Natrel Baboo play date

I was given the opportunity by Mom Central Canada to host a Natrel Baboo play date with friends. Who doesn’t love a reason for a fun get together especially when a package arrives at your house with everything that you need?! The package which had a “circle time” theme included 24 x  250 ml tetra packs of Natrel Baboo, 1 Sesame Street CD, colouring pages, a box of Crayola Crayons, a $25 gift cards to Loblaws to buy yummy and nutritious snacks and of course my favourite, Robert Munsch’s book Mortimer.

So what is Baboo you ask? Lots of parents I know aren’t aware of Baboo so here is some info on it.

Natrel Baboo is Canadian made with fresh milk and is a great transition drink from breast milk or formula for toddlers aged 12-24 months. It has a lower milk protein content which makes it easier to digest, has 4% milk fat,  and is loaded with all the good stuff – vitamins A, B6, C, D, E and omega-3 DHA.   The tetra packs are super convenient, ready to drink and easy to use when on the go! The best part is that it can be stored at room temperature. I  know for me, this would have been very useful with all the traveling we did this summer. Packing coolers with ice to keep whole milk cold was a huge pain!

So, back to the play date details.  I put a message on my Facebook and lots of friends replied showing interest for the play date. In the end due to other circumstances, 4 children between the ages of 15 and 22 months attended the play date.

When everyone arrived we played for a bit in our playroom.

Then it was time for snack! First I  brought out the Natrel Baboo drink boxes. I wasn’t sure how it was going to go over with all the kids. Princess Peach has been drinking whole cow’s milk since 11 months and is somewhat of a picky eater. I wasn’t even sure that she would go near the drink box let alone drink some of it! I was quite shocked that she actually drank some Baboo. I thought she would just throw it but to my surprise she had a few sips and even seemed to like it.

One of the kids, Little Man S, who usually only drinks around 2 ounces of cow’s milk a day downed the box! His parents (who were both in attendance) were both so pleased and commented that they will now consider buying Baboo because he drank it!

We then ate delicious President’s Choice snacks and fruit that all the kids enjoyed along with their Baboo tetra packs!

After snack time, everyone put their artist skills to use colouring with the Crayola crayons!

Then the kids gathered (or at least we tried to gather them all together) to listen to Mortimer. This is one of my favourite Robert Munsch stories and I was so happy to read it to the kids.

The overall consensus of the kids is that they liked Baboo. Although they weren’t able to give us a full report the continual sips of their straws told us enough! All of our friends left with Baboo in hand and some yummy treats to enjoy later.
