I rang the bell!!!! Chemotherapy is all done

chemoisover

I did it!!! Today after my last chemo treatment, I rang the bell! I have been waiting since I started chemo to ring the bell and bid the chemotherapy unit at Princess Margaret adieu! From the beginning I kept my eye on the prize which was ringing the bravery bell to say to the world “I am done!”

After 6 treatments ( 3 of FEC and 3 of D) spread out over a course of 18 weeks this part of my journey is all done. DONE. D-O-N-E, done!!!

I was quite emotional as the last few drops of the drugs went through the IV. I watched those last few drops flow through knowing that those were the last of the medications that I will hopefully never have to have again! It was really emotional knowing that the drugs worked and shrunk my tumor and hopefully killed any other cancer cell that could potentially be floating around my body.

Thank you to all of my family, and friends for checking in on my during my treatments. Your calls, emails, texts, notes, packages, meals, visits, outings and support have meant the world to me. They kept my spirits high knowing that I have a lot of fabulous people cheering for me in my corner!!! I really am blessed with the most amazing village of people!

My journey is far from over, but this is one thing I can cross off my cancer journey! Hooray!
