Princess Peach’s Picks

So I’ve decided to devote some blog entries to Princess Peach’s current favourite things. Hopefully this will give some parents new or different ideas of products that we are currently enjoying!

Currently, Princess Peach is into books. Like, really into them. She loves to read books. It’s so cute! We can often find her on her bedroom floor “reading” to herself. She will also “read” to herself in her car seat, on her Muskoka chair and really anytime she can! She also loves to cuddle up and have either myself or The Hubster read to her.

Here are some of her current faves:

We got this as a gift when Princess Peach was born and although we have read it to her she has really come to love this book over the past month. She’s become quite vocal and will attempt to make some of the animal sounds when she flips the flaps. It’s a fun book because it is interactive and provides an opportunity to learn some animals!

My mother-in-law bought this book for Princess Peach about a month ago and it quickly became one of her favourites! There is lots of repetition and features animals. The animals that are featured are not the traditional dog, pig, bird. There are kangaroos, bats and penguins which i love! The illustrations remind me of Princess Peach because she sleeps with her monkey loveys and sometimes like to carry one around with her just like the girl in the story.

I absolutely love Sandra Boynton books and Princess Peach has many of them. This one though is climbing the ranks quickly as a favourite. It’s super cute and includes all the familiar animals in all of Boynton’s books. It’s fun and again provides multiple opportunities to identify animals and their sounds both receptively and expressively

We have read this book to Princess Peach for a year. Crazy. She got this book as a gift when she was born and it immediately become our favourite book. It’s heart warming with cute rhyme and rhythm. She loves to bring this book with her and will “read” it to her in the car. This book provides lots of opportunities to find body parts, moods via facial expressions and actions.

What are your kiddies favourite book at the moment? Please share!

Ozzie loves Good Night Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann, which was a great gift and Boy of Mine by Jabari Asim, which was a hand me down. Our Sandra Boynton favourite is Blue Hat, Green Hat.

How do I love you is a great book! I still remember my childhood favourite books off by heart. I can’t wait to read them all to Princess Peach when she is older.
