I suffer from BWNS. Do you? #StreamTeam

BWNS

What is BWNS?

Well, it’s called Binge-watching Netflix Syndrome.

I suffer from it and suffer from it badly.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a syndrome that NEEDS to be cured. It’s just that once I start watching a show on Netflix I can’t stop. I need to watch them all.

As busy as I am with two kids, I’m the type of person who loves my “me” time. These days my “me” time consists of me curling up on the couch with a cup of tea and binge-watching a show on Netflix. I have to admit that part of the binge watching is due to the fact that when one episode ends, another starts in about 10 seconds. So amazing isn’t it?

Last year when Orange Is The New Black (OITNB) aired its first season I watched them ALL within 48 hours. I just could. not. stop. Really. Having an entire season or series at your fingertips is just amazing. It’s convenient and seeing that I have Netflix on every device in my house (serious…..cellphones, ipads, computers, and televisions) I never miss a beat! Usually I only plan to watch 1 or 2 episodes at a time but the next thing I know, it’s 2 am and I’ve watched five! Oops! Then without even realizing it, the season is done. Then I get sad because I didn’t plan on binge-watching the season but now it’s over and I have to find another series to watch. Then funny enough, history repeats itself. I find something I want to watch and within a week that too is over. Sadness ensues and again, I repeat this same process. Over. And. Over. Again.

The Hubster and I love to watch series together on Netflix but because I suffer from BWNS I always end up way ahead of him so I just watch most things on my own.

So what do I love to watch on Netflix?

Well, i’ve watched both seasons of Orange Is The New Black. If you have been living under a rock for the past year and haven’t seen it yet, go now and watch it! You will be hooked! I have yet to meet a person that isn’t.

I’ve watch Call the Midwife. Totally fantastic and engaging!

Homeland is a MUST as well. I could rewatch the series over and over again.

So, what’s up next? I’ve heard amazing things about House of Lies! That’s the next show that I will most likely binge-watch.

Admit it? Do you suffer from Binge-watching Netflix Syndrome? What shows have you binge-watched?

  1. Guilty. I also suffer from BWNS. My little one was sick, so we stayed home for a couple days from daycare. I had to work from home… only I got a little distracted with Netflix. What a beautiful creation <3

I have Netflix but don’t suffer from BWNS just yet! But I fear I might….there’s one show my friend is begging me to watch, she’d addicted and I fear I might fall into the trap!

Right now I’m bingeing Veronica Mars – I’ve already seen all the episodes, but it’s fun to go back and rematch.

I am so thankful that I don’t have netflix for this very reason. But hulu plus? You better believe I’ve watched hours upon hours of millionaire matchmaker, house hunters international, and blue bloods.

Lol! I’m so glad it is a ‘ real syndrome’ ! I was beginning to wonder if I wasn’t normal. ‘Suits’ had me hooked and binge-watching. There are others on the need-to-watch list too. Better get the popcorn!
