7 Steps to a do-it-yourself home detox and #giveaway

I never wear my shoes in the house. Ever. I think it’s gross. I grew up leaving our shoes at the door so for me it’s just habit. Now that I have my house, it’s a rule. NO shoes in the house. Please leave them at the door!  But did you know that about 70% of household dusts, pests, pollutants and dirt come into your house on your shoes?! Gross isn’t it?  I didn’t know this fact until I attended a very informative event hosted by Maureen Dennis and Seventh Generation.

I also learned that there are 7 easy, yes easy changes that you can make to start detoxing your house. And you can make those changes starting right now!

7 steps for do it yourself detox Seventh Generation

Seventh Generation makes products for your entire house! From laundry soap to diapers they have thought of it all. Seventh Generation is 100% clean and has no toxins. Cleaning with their products (which smell amazing too) make me feel better about what I’m putting around my kids. Little Dude is teething and puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. I feel totally confident when I clean with Seventh Generation products that he’s not ingesting anything toxic or that could seriously harm him.

My favourite product that I’ve used so far is the Tub and Tile Cleaner. Right, who gets excited about tub and tile cleaner? I do! This stuff is awesome and it works! It disinfects and cleans as well as my usual tub cleaner but is free of toxins which is important. It is also scented with essential oils and botanical extracts so it smells good too. My kids spend a lot of time in the bath tub and I never really thought about what I was cleaning their tub with. Considering their faces and bodies go in the tub, I’m happy that I made the switch.

Win It!!!

Thanks to Seventh Generation one lucky Canadian winner (excluding Quebec) will win a home detox kit (arv $50) with the following products:

  • Seventh Generation Natural Automatic Dishwasher Gel
  • Seventh Generation Stainless Steel Cleaner
  • Seventh Generation Free & Clear Natural Glass and Surface Cleaner
