Parenting 101 #giveaway

Church and Dwight Parenting 101 giveaway Canada

I’ll never forget the four page handout my pre-natal class gave us expectant parents. FOUR PAGES! It was insane. It totally freaked me out! The handout was separated into different categories but right away I felt so overwhelmed what I was being told I needed to have for my baby. I even added to the list as the teachers spoke and went over the list! Wow!

What that list didn’t include were tips and reminders of things to DO with baby. Those are what we needed four pages on! I am very comfortable with babies so I guess a lot of this stuff came naturally to me. Here are some of my parenting tips:

  • Talk to your baby as they are people. I don’t use “baby talk”. Even though they can’t answer back, I often talk like we are having a conversation.
  • Be patient. Sure they may not do things in the prescribed time that books outline or they may be screaming 20 hours a day but as best as possible try to be patient and calm.
  • NAP. Who cares about clean houses, laundry being done and perfectly cooked meals. Sure they are nice but you being able to function as a parent far outweighs the other things. I napped with both of my kids all the time. Hence, my often messy house. But I am A-ok with that!
  • Don’t compare your kids to other kids. I know it’s easy to do but kids will do everything in their own time. Not worth trying to rush them or waste time worrying about when they will hit certain milestone.
  • Enjoy every second (even the stressful ones) because kids grow way too quickly!

Thanks to our friends at Church & Dwight, one lucky Canadian (excludes Quebec) reader will win a Parenting 101 prize pack (arv $100)! If you are trying for a family or already have a family, there are some fantastic products that you will want in your home. The prize pack includes:
