Oh what Funakah, It’s almost Chanukah!

In just about 2 weeks time, Chanukah will start and oh are my kids ever excited! I am excited too! I have so many great memories of growing up having Chanukah parties at my grandmother’s house. She use to put everyone’s gifts in plastic laundry baskets, and then we would sort all the gifts out between my sister and I and my two cousins. She would make extra crispy potato latkes served with a side of apple sauce and sour cream. If you didnt’ know there are two types of people- those who like their latkes with apple sauce and those who like their latkes with sour cream. I’m the person who likes their latkes with sour cream!

I would say that Chanukah is probably my favourite Jewish holiday. I love celebrating and love celebrating for 8 days (who doesn’t?), playing dreidel, the chocolate gelt (chocolate coins) and family get togethers. Now that my kids are getting older they are also growing their love for this holiday too. Princess Peach suggested this year that the girls (her and I) buy gifts for Little Dude and The Hubster. I thought it was such a great idea. I’m sure she has an ulterior motive for me to buy her another LOL Doll, but I think her intentions are great.
