My Bucket/ Fuck It List

 Bucketlist Fuckit list MySoCalledMommyLife

I’ve always had a running list of places I wanted to visit and things that I wanted to do over the course of my life. My husband and I also had our list of things we wanted to do together once we retired. I know, its a long time away but it was something we loved to talk about!

When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, I made a bucket list of things that I wanted to do with my family and things that were important to me, but I had no concerns of it not getting done. The plan was for me to get through my cancer treatments, get back to my life and all of the things that I wanted to do will eventually be crossed off. But, then I was diagnosed with terminal cancer and all those things on my bucketlist became imminent.

My bucket/ fuck it list, as I like to call it became a priority. A huge priority. I often feel that it’s me against time. I have a need to get as much done now, while I can.  I have come to terms that I might not be able to complete everything that I want to do, but while I’m living, doing well and able to travel I’m going to try to cross off as many things and make as many memories as possible with those I love. Winning the lottery to fund all these things I want to do would be nice too!

I think of my list like a working document. As things come up, I ad them to the list, and as I complete others I remove them. It’s really a great feeling trying to get as much done as possible. But at the same time, I know most of these things probably won’t be crossed off as a lot of the large travel items might not be possible.

I think its also so important to know that I have two bucket lists. One of is of the bigger items that I’m sharing below and the other list is a  list of moments I want to be here for. Moments that are so important to me to be there for. Being around to watch my kids finish Grade 3 and Grade 1. To be well enough to travel so we can go on another family vacation. To make it to another summer. To be there in the stands cheering my son on while he plays hockey. To be able to get my daughter ready at a dance competition. As much as my bucket list below is amazing, these “smaller moments” are also incredibly important to me.

So here we go. Cue the drums……….
