The weather is changing quickly in Toronto now. The trees have changed colours and the ground is covered with fallen leaves. I always get sad this time of year because summer is now a distant memory and I never know what type of winter we are going to get. I try not to complain about the crazy cold winters, but ever since I went to study abroad in California in third year University, I can say without a doubt, that I would be OK passing over winter. When I lived in Sacramento, we technically had winter, but the winter there is more akin to a Toronto fall. You know, wearing jeans a cozy sweater and it was still warm enough to wear sandals! Seriously. It was heavenly. I’ve sadly packed away my sandals and taken out all of my boots. You should see my personal line up, BOGS rain boots, BOGS winter boots, BOGS leather boots. I LOVE my BOGS.
I think since having kids, I have come to detest the cold weather. There is nothing more cumbersome, time-consuming and stressful than to dress little kids in their winter gear. Jackets, snow pants, boots, gloves, hats, neck warmers. There is so much stuff to keep track of too! You are dressing kids so warmly in a warm house that by the time you are ready to venture outside everyone is sweating!
Three years ago, just after Little Dude was born, I was introduced to BOGS and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’m all about ease, and comfort when it comes to the shoes and boots I wear on my feet and BOGS offers just that! Another bonus is that they are super light and waterproof. Most of the boots are slip on which makes it super easy to put on and take off.
I know as much as I may complain about the weather, once it is here I will be ok! I often look forward to warm winter days playing in the snow with my kids, building a snow man or going tobogganing. One thing, I won’t be complaining about are cold feet because I’ll be wearing my BOGS winter boots.
