AVENT Manual Breast Pump Review and #Giveaway #AVENTmomsCA

When I left the hospital 3.5 days after having an emergency c-section with Princess Peach, The Hubster and I dropped her off at our house with my parents and run to a local baby store. I was trying to breast feed and believed that I needed the most expensive double electric pump on the market. I tried pumping after having her and it never worked. No matter what I did. I hated it. So before I had Little Dude I sold it. I wasn’t too keen on pumping and didn’t really plan on it. But, due to nipple pain/bleeding and other breast-feeding issues to keep my milk supply up, I pumped. I went to Walmart and bought the cheapest manual hand pump I could find. It worked which meant I COULD pump and let my nipples heal!

Philips AVENT Manual Breast Pump

I was recently sent the AVENT Manual Breast Pump. Seeing that I had figured out that I could indeed pump and actually get milk, I was excited to try this pump out. I’m using the AVENT bottles for Little Dude and I love that the bottles attach to the pump for easy usage. It is a breeze to pump directly into the bottle for storage purposes or being able to use it later on in the day. No transferring of milk here! Pumping allows me to have a break and let someone else feed Little Dude which I appreciate.

Using the pump is easy. You have to attach the cushion, valve, handle and bottle to the main part of the pump and start pumping. It’s easy to use and clean which is always a plus in my books! All parts are able to go in the dishwasher and are BPA free. I haven’t traveled yet while using the pump but it’s small enough to fit into a diaper bag or purse for easy travel use. As it’s a manual pump there is no battery to charge which means it’s always ready to use! In fact, the pump has been clinically proven to be as effective as a hospital-grade electric pump.

My favourite part of the pump is the soft cushion. It’s purpose is to help stimulate milk flow while using the pump. It makes pumping comfortable and you really feel a difference on your breast compared to other pumps that I have used.

I highly recommend this pump for anyone who wants to pump. It is not as quick to pump because it’s manual but it’s extremely efficient and gets the job done!

You can buy the pump for the suggested retail price of $59.99 at Sears, Walmart and other selected retailers.

You can get more information about the pump on the AVENT website, on Facebook and on Twitter.

would love to try this pump. with my first and second (preemie twins) i used the hospital grade pumps, with this one, I haven’t used anything but am starting to realize that pumping every so often would be beneficial when we want a night out…
