3 reasons why you should take your kids to a Toronto FC game

A few weeks ago my family and I went to our very first Toronto FC game. We were invited for a special media event and it was a first professional soccer game for all of us and we were all so excited. The Hubster and I are huge sports fans and love exposing the kids to a variety of sports. Being that the kids are young we have had our successes and failures at sports games so I was looking forward to seeing how they would fare at a soccer game.

We got to watch the team come out of the dressing room for practice before the game, watch some of the practice on the field and high 5 the players after their warm-up! We were also treated to a special meet-and-greet with Dwayne De Rosario, who is the team’s all-time top scorer!

These are my 3 reasons why you should take your kids to a Toronto FC game:

1- The games are quick

Unlike other sports, the clock continues to run in soccer so the games are pretty quick at around 2 hours in length. It is the perfect amount of time to keep kids engaged and entertained.

Soccer is also a fast sport. The players are running an entire field so there is always something or someone to watch on the field!

As well, fans are able to arrive 1 hour before game time. I was so surprised at how many people were there before the game started! It’s a great opportunity to watch the players warm-up, buy team paraphernalia and get treats before game time!

2- The noise your kids make won’t bother anyone

The stadium is open and the fans are cheering that the noise my kids made didn’t seem to bother anyone! Little Dude does not know how to whisper and has been bothersome at other sporting events, yet here no one seemed to notice! There is an area known as the Southend Supporters where fan clubs cheer with flags, signs and drums. The vibe coming from this section is amazing and was felt throughout the entire stadium. They also have cheers that they belt out throughout the game so it was a lot of fun for my kids to watch.

3- BMO Field is beautiful and family friendly

BMO Field is so gorgeous! It is situated off of Lakeshore Blvd and depending on where you are sitting you have an incredible view of Lake Ontario. We had the most beautiful fall day to watch the game and sitting outside was such a treat.

In addition, section 227 is designated the Family section where no foul language in enforced during the game. There are also family sized bathrooms throughout the stadium, an elevator for easy access to the different levels of the stadium and stroller parking on the main level at Fan Services.

Please note that kids 2 and over need a ticket to get into the stadium for a Toronto FC game!

So, what are you waiting for? There are two games left this season and I have a promo code to share with you! Go here and choose your tickets for the October 14th or October 17th home games. The promo code is LEVYTFC.

Have a great time!
